This article is about the Quran in the Muslim Chat app. For the text of the Quran, see Read the Holy Quran online; for its reciters, see Quran reciters.
A real Mushaf, page by page
Muslim Chat shows the Quran exactly as it is printed: the Indo-Pak (Hafezi) Mushaf that most of Bangladesh, India and Pakistan read — 15 lines, 610 pages, every Para 20 pages — or the Madani Mushaf of the King Fahd Complex — 15 lines, 604 pages. Both use the original King Fahd Complex lettering, so the page you see is the page you know.
Turn pages with your finger and the corner curls over like a page of an e-book, with the next page showing underneath. Tap the edge, use the arrow keys on a computer, or slide to any page. Each Surah begins with its decorated title, and opening a Surah takes you straight to where it begins.
Listen to famous reciters
Tap play and the Quran is recited ayah by ayah, with the ayah being recited highlighted on the page. When the recitation reaches the next page, the page turns by itself. Every Surah begins with Bismillah, and the recitation carries on into the next Surah.
Choose from Mishary Rashid Alafasy, Abdul Basit Abdus Samad, Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary, Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi, Abdur-Rahman As-Sudais and Saad Al-Ghamdi, and the speed. For memorising, repeat each ayah 3, 5 or 10 times, or repeat a page or a whole Surah. The recitation keeps playing in the background and pauses by itself during a call.
The meaning of every word
Press and hold a word on a phone — or double-click it on a computer — and a small card shows the word with its English meaning. From the same card you can listen to the ayah, copy it, send it into a chat or share it. Tap an ayah's number to copy the ayah with its Surah and number.
Read without internet
After the first open, the Quran is kept on your phone or computer, so it opens even with no internet at all — Settings in the Quran shows what is saved, and one button saves the whole Quran (about 7 MB). Recitations of any Surah can be saved too. Bookmarks and your Continue reading place follow you to every device.
